This is an amazing opportunity to be coached by Harry Molloy (a professional downhill mountain bike racer for Insync Racing) and Claire Hitchings (current off-road triathlon World Championships age group silver medallist).

The aims of this session are to: build your confidence and ability and to always have as much fun possible on the bike. Whether you're a mountain bike fanatic, beginner or an adult that wants to learn the basics, this session will help you safely develop your skills. Build your confidence and gain knowledge with tips and tricks to help you get more from your riding and improve your overall riding ability.

There will be two groups: improver (coached by Claire) and intermediate (coached by Harry). When booking, please select the group you wish to be in (improver or intermediate) based on rider ability (not age!).

  • The improver group is aimed at improvers and will take place on the school playground. This is ideal for those early in their cycling careers, including individuals wanting to get into triathlon or adults who want to know the basics to enjoy family rides. Areas covered include: braking, cornering, balance, gears and general bike handling skills. This session will take place on the school playground.
  • The intermediate group is aimed at those wishing to take their biking skills to the next level. Riders will need a bike suitable for off-road riding.

Attendance criteria

Attendees need to:

  1. Be 6 years old or above. Adults are welcome.
  2. Be able to ride a bike without stabilisers and start and stop independently (using brakes - not feet!).

  5. BMXs are not suitable for this clinic. For the intermediate group, riders will need a bike suitable for off-road riding.
